Julia Lehr LCSW, LMFT (she/her)
I believe deeply in the power of relationships. I see them as essential tools for navigating life’s transitions and finding greater meaning in the world around us. In my work, I draw on the therapeutic relationship, a client’s relationship with themselves, and their relationships with others as both a mirror and a lens—for understanding, healing, and accessing support and community throughout the therapeutic journey.
I integrate a range of therapeutic modalities to help clients develop a clearer map of their inner world. Together, we track emotional responses, unmet needs, core beliefs, and relationship patterns—both past and present—to support meaningful insight and transformation.
As a therapist, I strive to be a grounding presence and a safe attachment base from which healing and growth can unfold. I create a warm, supportive space where clients can explore complex, vulnerable emotions using metaphor, emotional expression, and embodied practices.
To support clients navigating grief and trauma, I am trained in and practice Brainspotting. I also incorporate experiential modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems techniques to foster deeper self-understanding and relational shifts. I weave mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic awareness into sessions to support grounding and integration, helping clients connect more deeply with both their internal and external experiences. I also bring in elements of nature-based work to enhance reflection and healing.
Outside the therapy room, I find restoration and insight through time spent in the natural world. Trail running and climbing have shown me the healing power of physical challenge, solitude, and connection with others. These experiences have nurtured confidence, resilience, and presence in my life. I also identify as a maker and find joy in creative projects—working with fabric, recycled materials, plants, and building out spaces like vans into functional art.
When I'm not on the trail or the rock, I love adventuring with my two dogs, Ezra and Fjor—whether it’s in the desert, forest, ocean side, or on the open road.
Therapeutic Modalities
In order to support my clients, I utilize an integrative approach combining different therapeutic modalities and techniques to best meet my client’s present needs and development.
To deepen therapeutic work, I add different elements such as nature based therapy, mindfulness/breathing techniques, Animal Assisted Therapy, ceremony, and art.
Modalities that I gravitate towards and pull from are Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Brainspotting.
